Hello Everybody!
I hope you all have been having a wonderful Passover, Easter, and Spring!
I’m sorry that I’ll have to bypass April Fools Day wit right now and get
right to business. Amid all the excitement of recording Reckoning and the
accompanying digital communications about it all, I’ve also been booking
gigs! In NYC, Long Island, California, Nova Scotia, Ohio and Indiana!
With more coming soon. On my Pledge Music list of exclusives, I’ve posted
offers for pairs of tickets, as well as tickets plus a song request, for
most of the shows. Additionally, for anyone in the NYC metro/suburban
area who wants to arrange an extra special Father’s Day with the Jen
Chapin Trio, I’ve listed a discounted House Concert offer as well. Please
do check out the full list of offerings here,
and if there is something you would like to see offered that isn’t, just
reply here and let me know your thoughts and questions. I’m eager to hear
them!
I have a lot of heavy lifting to do on the fundraising front over this
next week to meet my goal and actually pay for the work we’ve done so
far, but rest assured the album is happening! Your pre-orders and pledges
have built a growing community of listeners out there; reading my
updates, cheering us on, asking interesting questions, and making the
eventual day of reckoning with the checkbook is not so scary… Please help
me build this community! You can forward

link on facebook and twitter (and all those other things
out there I’ve yet to get a handle on), do a little shopping for your
family and friends (CDs, LPs, art prints, tote bags, posters, water
bottles, hand-written lyric sheets, handcrafted “Let it Show” jewelry…),
and so on.
A few other notes — We’re finishing up all the overdubs (guitars, piano,
background vocals, trumpet, harp!) in the next week, which means I’ll be
wrapping up the list of musical contributors as well as the list of $100
“Music Lovers” pledges listed in the album credits. There are just 8 of
these left, out of 100 total, for those who would like to be counted.
Yes — the next gig we have coming up is our CD release celebration in
NYC! With the full band, special guests, and all the bells and whistles.
The show will take place on Friday June 14th at the grand new version of
“The Cutting Room” venue that was a kind of home base for us a few years
back in its earlier manifestation. Stephan and I went this weekend to
check out the club and were very excited to envision playing there for
you all! I’m scheming on ways to continue the party after our set and
will converse with the kind management there on this — they have a cool
room right outside the music hall which could serve our purposes nicely.
